AFB, Nevada, Rockwell B-1B 86-0095 is one of 3 that participated in Red
Flag 09-2 and is from the 28th Bomb Wing based at Ellsworth AFB, South
Dakota. The B-1 has proven to be a valuable asset in the war in
Afghanistan, as it can loiter for long periods without refuelling from a
tanker, and using the new Lockheed Martin Sniper Pod which is externally
mounted, the B-1 can drop Precision Guided Weapons (PGM) on suspected
Taliban targets.
